Overview:

The project is a private residence in Ratchaburi, Thailand on a rural site. A contemporary open plan was desired. Indoor and outdoor cooking facilities as well as a kiln for firing ceramic were programmed. High ceiling and natural ventilation were used in public and semi-public portions of the house. Lower ceiling in the sleeping area along with a ductless split mechanical system are provided. Deep soffits shade the perimeter. Indoor and outdoor living rooms as well as screen porch enhance the in and out lifestyle of this family. Concrete floors (colored with admixtures) reduce ambient temperature, while recycled plastics are used to simulate wood floors in the sleeping areas. These material and the others selected from foundation up also termite infiltration.
